INSPECTIONS

Chimney inspections come in three different types. Level 1, 2, and 3. The first (level 1) is a inspection done that doesn't involve any special equipment. We look for things like water damage, cracked or spalled bricks, condition of flue tiles or liner, integrity of crown, shoulder, piping, cleanout door, mortar joints, cap, flashing, step flashing, shingles, height, creosote or soot build up, rustefflorescence and more. This is included with a chimney cleaning.  A level 2 is everything in a level 1 plus a camera is used to inspect the condition of the flue tiles when you can't see them from the top or the bottom. Last there is a level 3. this is called for when you suspect something is wrong inside the chimney but you have to create an access hole to inspect it.
