TILE KNOCKING
When installing a liner you sometimes run into a sizing issue where the liner will not fit inside the flue. Other times there might be an offset making it difficult or impossible to transition. In cases like these we need to break out the old clay tiles. This is done by using a square offset weight called a tile knocker. The tile knocker is attached to a set of interlocking rods hooked up to a drill. We breach a access hole at the base of the chimney. Then a vacuum is inserted to get rid of any dust that comes from tile knocking. The small broken pieces of tile are then removed threw the access hole making a larger opening for the liner to go through.
